Earlier this week, I spent an evening with my aunt, Mace. One of the things we did together was watch a session by Leslie Ludy on “True Femininity.” I recently got one of her books, “Set-Apart Femininity” but have only read a few pages so far. I was excited to hear Leslie speak!
I really enjoyed what she was sharing. Leslie mainly spoke about what she came from. She was a Christian, but stayed as close to the world as she could with out going “over the edge of the cliff” as she put it. Then she went through how God had spoke to her and that she was living for herself and not for Him. She slowly began giving things to God, such as her life, her body, her relationships with guys, etc.
One day as she was reading through Proverbs 31, she came to verse 12. It says, “She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.” That really stuck out to her [and me!]. What does it mean ‘to do him good and not evil all the days of your life?’ You’re not married all your life. To me, it means keeping myself pure, loving him (yes, already!), praying for him (you never know what trial he is facing), and that I wouldn't dress in a way that would attract men’s attention, because I am saving myself for my future husband.
So, girls, save yourself for the one God has for you. Lets do our future husband good ALL the days of our life. Prepare now. Keep yourself pure.
Save your heart, mind and emotions for the one and only man God has for you.

Deleteoh, Tashia, so very well said!! i read Set Apart Femininity a couple of springs ago and connected with it dearly. (in fact, i'm just now thinking it might be good to read it again.)
ReplyDeletei also think that along these lines are how we dress. i read something (and maybe in the said book) to 'think of every young man as some other girl's husband' and 'dress the way you'd want other girls dressing around your future husband.' i think this puts another great perspective, especicially because not all of us will get married and so it's good to keep in mind to serve our fathers and especially our Heavenly Father.
i also wanted to mention that i love your flower shots. wonderful!
