perfect peace.

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength." Isaiah 26:3-4

I found these verses when I was reading "A Young Woman's Walk with the Lord" [by Elizabeth George] today. The section I'm reading right now is about peace.

In the verses above, it says that God will keep us in perfect peace, that we need to trust in the Lord, for in HIM is everlasting strength. Doesn't that fill your heart with joy to know that God is everlasting strength and that He will keep us in perfect peace?! We need not be afraid for HE is in control.

When we are filled with the Holy Spirit & walking in God's ways, we will have the peace that comes from God, and from Him alone. We will have a quiet heat.

That's what I long to have: a quiet, restful heart, in total peace with God, a peace that takes root in my heart, even in the midst of turmoil. We can have that kind of peace if we turn to God instead of focusing on our difficulties. [Read Isaiah 26:3 again]

Too often I dwell on all the bad things that happen in my life or the struggles I am having instead of taking them to Jesus and asking Him to carry my burden & help me through it.

If you struggle with similar difficulties, know that you are not alone! I am on this journey with you.

If you have not yet read Elizabeth's book I mentioned above, I highly recommend that you get it! I'm still working through the book, but have read several of her other books and am always encouraged by what she shares.
I will leave you with this verse: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27 //
