Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise:
be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
{: Psalm 100:4 :}
Since today is thanksgiving, I thought I'd talk about being thankful. Why do we give thanks? I think it's to express our appreciation to God for what He has given us or has done for us. But, do we only give thanks for the good things? Shouldn't we give thanks in everything? To explain what I mean, here's a personal experience of mine.

Our laptop is a bit ancient, and it sometimes shuts down if it over heats, so we prop it up and put ice packs underneath it. :) The other day I was on looking at blogs and it shut down. I was a little upset that it had down that. I left to do something else and came back later and was on for a little before it shut down again. Now I got a little more upset. Then I got to thinking, could I find anything to be thankful about in this? Could I be thankful for the time that I did get to spend online? It seems like we always thank God for the good things and not often enough for letting us go through the bad things. God is always trying to teach us something. Maybe He was telling me I need to spend less time online or to work on not getting upset and frustrated so easily.
I thought I'd list 5 things that I am thankful for:
1. Jesus
2. Family
3. Friends
4. Cool weather
5. Coffee
What are some things you are thankful for?
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body;
and be ye thankful.

We are so very blessed to have all of our family living close by!
Many blessings on your day,

Happy Thanksgiving to you, Tashia. Loved this post! My family usually goes to my mom's parent's house, and then we go to my dad's parent's house. But this year we just saw my mom's side of the family.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for, [amongst many other things,] Jesus who died for me, family who loves me, friends who encourage me, a house to live in, and a nice vehicle to drive in. I think that's all I'll put in this comment. :-)
God bless!
His Princess,
Bekah

You have some nice photos, thanks for sharing. I am thankful for the life that God has given me. It certainly is not the one I would have chosen, but I know that God knows best. I am also thankful for my children who are a great blessing and encouragement to me and for my brothers and sisters in the Lord. God is good.
