seek the Lord.

"And you shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:13

Are you seeking Jesus with [all] your heart?
Sometimes I fall into a rut of reading my Bible but not really comprehending it or applying it to my life. Sometimes my mind wonders as I read and I'm not even seeing the words.

We need to put away all distractions and clear our minds before having our quiet time with Jesus.
He wants ALL of us, not part of us. We need to whole heartedly seek Him, truly care about what we are reading and think about how we can apply it to our lives.

We need to seek Him diligently.
Seeking God dilligently can sometimes be a challenge. We can easily get caught up in daily life and forget about God. But praise the Lord He never gives up on us!! It seems like when I start to wonder off, God has a way of pulling me back to Him. I am so grateful for that!

When is your quiet time?
I find the best time for myself is in the morning, right after family devotions. My room is my favorite place to meditate. It's usually so peaceful. I sit on our spare bed, by the window, and let the warm sunshine fall on my open Bible.

As we seek Jesus, He will continue teaching us new things from His word.
Search the Bible for things that you can apply to your life, verses to share with friends, or key points that encourage you. Start a journal and save your favorite verses.

So, are you dilligently seeking Jesus with your whole heart? I pray that you are! //
. . .

{How do you spend your quiet time? Are you spending time in prayer + Bible reading each morning?}

When thou saidst, seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, thy face, Lord, will I seek. Psalm 27:8

  1. Thanks for this thought-provoking post, Tashia! Yes, I do spend time in Bible reading and prayer (and journalling) each morning, but I think I need to be more diligent with not letting my thoughts get distracted.. There's always something to improve on!

  3. My thoughts also have a tendency to wander at times, I'll have read several verses and then I realize I missed all that I just read because I let my thoughts go to other things so then I reread everything again. I am reading in the early morning right after I get up but after a run or coffee so I'm fully awake. It's quiet then because no one else is awake yet. I need to do better with praying in the morning. Loved this and I really love the two verses you shared.
