come boldly

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. }} Hebrews 4:16

Let's be BOLD in calling out to our Heavenly Father for help. This verse clearly shows us that we can come *boldly* into God's presence, that we may ask for mercy + grace in our time of need.

Jesus is ready & waiting to help us.

We just need to BOLDLY call out to Him. //

choose your battles

This morning I read from His Princess devotional by Sheri Rose Shepherd. The section was on choosing our battles and it made me think of the movie War Room and how we need to fight our battles in prayer.

Here are two quotes from the book:

The enemy of your soul will entice you to fight the wrong battles in order to distract you from your main mission. We need to use prayer to discern between the two.

We aren't fighting flesh and blood, but against evil forces of the spiritual realm.

These quotes made me think of how Miss Clara told Elizabeth that she was fighting the wrong battle. Elizabeth was fighting against her husband when the real enemy was Satan. When Elizabeth realized this, she asked God for forgiveness and help to fight the right battle. She kicked the real enemy out of their home and began fighting in prayer. That's when God was able to work in her life and the lives of those she prayed for.

We can do this too. We can fight our battles in prayer. We need only get on our knees and lift our needs and burdens to the Lord.
Be grateful for your blessings, but lift your needs and requests to Him. -Miss Clara

As I continue on my journey with Jesus, I learn more and more about how important prayer is. I'm so thankful to have Someone to run to with my fears, worries, struggles, and needs.

Let's not forget that Jesus is never far away. Count your blessings. Pray, and lift your needs to Him. Be patient and listen for His voice.
Remember: the spiritual battle is fought --and won-- on your knees. //

For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory. Deuteronomy 20:4 NIV

my prayer.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Ephesians 4:29

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Those two verses are my prayer...that I would never say anything that is unkind or unloving, that I would use my words to lift others up, and not tear them down, that I leave others with hope, and not discouragement, that what I say and think would be acceptable unto God.

a prayer for while you are waiting.

My Father,
I know I am impatient, so prone to worry, to give up, to lose hope. Help me rest in Your promises today.
In this season of waiting, renew my joy in this moment so that I do not miss Your presence in this place.
Thank You for being with me and for never giving up on me.
Thank You for always working for my good and for Your glory, even when I can't see it.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

God is faithful.

He is faithful to supply my need. He is faithful to give me joy abundantly. He is faithful to calm the storms of life for me. He is faithful, He's all I need.
Lately God has been showing me that He is faithful and that He does answer prayer. Sometimes we doubt, and wonder if God even hears our prayers.
I started a prayer journal a couple months ago and it has really helped me. I can write down prayers or praises, and look back and see how God answered and was faithful.

I've been praying for something for some time now and I didn't feel like God was answering. Then, I realized He had answered and I didn't even know it! It was something small and it showed me that God does care for even the little things.

So, if you are feeling discouraged that God isn't faithful or answer prayer, be patient. Have faith. God always answers prayer...it may not happen today, tomorrow, or even next week. And He may not answer the way we think He should. But God is always faithful. He will answer your prayers. We just have to be patient and wait.

"Never doubt what one prayer can do"

{How has God been faithful to you this week?}
